Door locks

Having a problem with the drivers door today. It won't shut! If I move the locking mechanism on the passenger side with a screwdriver, it clicks in place and locks. On the drivers side, it just moves and doesn't lock. Something simple to check or fix? Or will it needs replaced? Anybody had this problem before?

check the red emergency handle is fully pushed in as this can hold it open. Otherwise strip clean and rebuild as its probably full of crap.

Check that the door catch hasnt moved or come loose

Emergency release is ok, and the catch itself is solid. I'll strip it back tonight and clean it out, see if that solves it, assuming it's an easy job?
