I went into the garage today and there was a strong smell of petrol. I drove the car yesterday and parked it in the garage yesterday evening, no different from normal.
I've checked under the car and there is no sign of a leak anywhere. It's obviously been warm today and the car has been in the garage all day but can't see any reason for the strong smell.
Any ideas??

also check the boot carefully, I had this for a while and couldn't get to the bottom of where the petrol was coming from.
It turned out to be a crack in the fuel tank and was leaking fuel into the boot. The crack/split was where the fuel breather connects to the tank and is apparently quite common as the fuel breather weld provides mechanical mounting point for the tank.
This is on the RHS of the boot as you look into the boot. I noticed a slightly damp boot carpet at the bottom RHS of the boot.
This could have been quite bad had it not been found in time. I had mine bravely welded back together which was good as replacement tanks are hard to come by and prove to be quite pricey.
