It's finally time for my Tuscan to get a respray after I had an argument with a Volvo which is going to need some fibreglass work on the bonnets. There are plenty of other scrapes I've collected over the years, so I'm thinking of getting the lot done, and probably a colour change too.

Car is currently silver (Lotus New Aluminium) and my immediate preference is for black as I think it looks great on a Tuscan, but having had 2 previous black TVR's I also know how badly it shows stonechips.

My second choice is white - good at hiding stonechips (I expect, as silver is too) but a bit "fashionable" so I'm not totally convinced (although the pictures I have seen on here do a good job of persuading me).

I don't want it to be too "in your face", so yellow is out, and I'd like something that will touch up / colour match fairly easily.

So... can PH convince me that either black won't look terrible after a few thousand miles or that white won't look terrible in a couple of years time?

Tricky

I think white is at risk of dating quickly (although that is less of an issue on a niche car)
Black looks great but as you say stone chips always show up but you could armourfend the front

Personally I would go for a deep blue with a good pearlescent effect but again stone chips are a potential problem

What is the colour of your interior? that is important too as you don't want to have a major colour clash especially when you take your roof down.

Expensive, but what about a Cascade Indigo or Cascade Violet... with such curves on the Tuscan it would look very good... cloud9

Pink it is biggrin

I think white will win... interior is almost totally black so no real clash. A couple of bits of grey leather but they are slowly being swapped out for black...

Saw a pearl white Aston V8 Vantage at the local dealers the other day which looked very good, could be worth a try on a Tuscan.

My Mk2 Tuscan is Bentley Saphire Blue. Looks great with a real depth to the colour.
Problem is lots of stone chips not helped by a scrote throwing an egg at me when he drove past.
Actualy miss the purple paradise in your face colour of my Mk1.
Planning on a respeay also but restricted by the black / grey interior.
RED springs to mind.

Reckon it would have to be swordfish chameleon or poss spectraflair silver although they seem to be Tvr specific colours and I couldn't find colour codes for either as don't seem to be listed on dupont etc.

What about an emerald/ blue flip (see profile pic) It has a black basecoat and the flakes go in the clearcoat before the lacquer. The paint cost me about £500 plus basecoat, clearcoat and lacquer and the effect is stunning. I can source the paint from my supplier in the USA if needed!
