Over Revving

Noticed lately I have had a bit of a strange problem with the tuscan, when the car is fully warmed up it tends to over rev like the accelerator cable is stuck. When you lift off the accelerator the engine continues to rev at about 2-2500 rpm making the car a nightmare to drive.

Any ideas? It's definitely not the accelerator cable as this is new.

Mine has done the same on occasion.
Number of posibilities from carpet to cable.
Mine was a problem of lack of use before I bought my Tuscan.
The pivot shaft for the pedal had some corrosion on the bearings.
It quickly inproved through daily use and occasional squirt of WD40.

I have heard people say that a corroded cable causes a similar problem.

Had a good look at pedals and no problems there,or cable as its new ,any ideas anyone ? As i said it ony happens when its hot .

you need to check the cable under the airbox and throttle mechanism. It could be a few things but likely the cable/spring binding under the airbox.

Had this happen twice. First time the revs wouldn't drop below 2700 the second time about a month later (after a thorough dealer check) the revs wouldn't drop below 4500. Left the car for an hour, restarted and ran as if nothing had happened. Not convinced the cause is mechanical. Could a faulty sensor input cause this problem?

I also had this happen when the throttle butterflies were sticking after the factory rebuilt the throttle bodies.
