Over the last few years I've gone from a Chim 4.5 to a 996 Turbo and I'm thinking of coming back to a Tuscan 2S. As good as the Turbo is (And it is!) it doesn't have the excitement the Chim used to give me. Oh, and I can't set off car alarms in car parks smile

The only real issue I have is with parts availability. What parts can't you get for a Mk II Tuscan? Or what parts are hard to get hold of? e.g the windscreen? I wont mind it being off the road for repairs, but I dread being told "We can't get that part anymore"

they're all pretty much available, just takes patience occasionally when its an unusual part. :-)

Multipart have taken over TVR parts supply in the past year which seems to have made parts easier to come by (if a little more expensive than when TVR were making cars).

From my experience bits of trim are tricky to get hold of, but all mechanical parts I've needed are available (albeit not the cheapest). No idea on body parts, though.

Parts are readily available, if you want new body panels the Surface & Design will also supply, fit and paint. BMC (The Blackpool Motor Company) have also just started up and will also be source of supply... Also BMC are planning to do a new airbox at a lower cost that the ACT Carbon one at £700.
John Reid (Grantura Engineering) are good for Borg Warner gearboxes and BTR(Dana Spicer) Diffs and bits, I just got a new prop shaft from Multipart depot at Crick(Rugby) .. Multipart (Chorley) didn't have one..unfortunately they only deliver on a Thursday so it took over a week.
D&C Trim are probably the best for sorting out bits of internal trim.

Many thanks for the replies; it seems positive.

I'm a big fan of the black convertible that Tony Gilbert has got in. Does anyone know the car at all? He's offered a tentative direct swap for my 911 Turbo, but I think we're a few grand different to make that work.

Does the Tuscan 2 S have an LSD (Hydratrak isn't it?) ?

It looks like some of the electronic trickery may be getting hard to source.

The heater ECU looks to becoming a problem. Hopefully someone knows someone who can get them repaired or remanufactured?

Try Cath Mason (CM electronics) , she used to make/repair PODS & ECUs at TVR 01253595250 or c.m.electricals@hotmail.co.uk

The Moonraker BGlack one ??? from the reg I guess it was sold by Cicely Continental in Preston...look in the convertible register .. stickied link at top of the page. Yes it is BTR (now Dana Spicer) Hydratrak... http://www.bpw.co.uk/Automotive-DanaParts.html then look at TVR.

Glow Worm,
This is some realy good information. This level of detail and confidence should help us all keep up the price of the Marques which is great for us all.
