Problem with second fan

After a trip into town the other weekend when my Tusc got somewhat toasty and began spewing steam (water temp went over 107C, dunno what the maximum was though as the pod decided to have a fit at that point too), I decided to check out the fans.

The first one (driver's side) cuts in at about 90C, but the second never does. I've swapped the relays over (and back again), but no change. I've also cleaned up the connector for the second fan as best as I can, but still no joy.

What's left to tick off? Any ideas?

- Water temp sensor(s)? (Is there one, or does it have two?)
- Dead fan?

I have same problem with Sagaris. Fan on driver's side works ok but other does not seem to kick in - ever. Swapped cables, fan works OK so it appears it aint getting the signal to spin up?????

To efficiently fill the radiator system ideally be purged filled from the bled points, or the car needs to be jacked up at the front to get all the air out so the water temp sensor at the back of the engine (on the left from airbox side) for the ECU to work correctly. OK, disconnected the water temp sensor and neither fan came on.....??? I was under the impression the ECU adopted some sort of 'safe running' mode and engaged both.

The rad looks knackered now anyway..... .....noticed a fine mist squirting from the top right corner when at operating temp and a puddle underneath afterwards.
