Red pull lever under drivers side of dash

Can someone tell me what this pull lever does?

I havwe searched the handbook but still havn't a clue

Make sure no-one is in the passenger seat when you pull it.

Unless you don't like them.

Didn't you ever wonder how you get out in a crash if the electric door buttons cease to work????
There is (or should be) an identical one on the passenger side. Emergency door releases.

Just be sure that you only use them in an emergency because iirc the window does not drop and you have to force it open.

yes lower the window if possible before you pull it. Also make sure it's firmly pushed back in as your door might unexpectedly pop open otherwise.

Speaking from experience this might be surplus to requirements - in a heavy impact crash anyway. The roof has a tendency to fly off on impact thus leaving an easy escape route

Yup. Sitting in the dark, post 60mph impact my first thought was "Why am I getting wet?".
