Front drivers -side light ... Doh!

Help required!


I have managed to pop the front drivers side main beam light into the wing! Why ME...

Anyone had this problem before ? Mine looks like it was just held with silcon should it not be a
bracket ?

Hi Andy, had the same problem a while back on my 03 Tuscan. It had some work done at the dealers ( mainly niggles as usual )and I needed to collect on a Saturday...no mechanics in of course! The salesroom was open though, and a youngster was doing a great job cleaning it before they let me have it back. He brought me the keys and said " I've broken a bit off your car " and looked mortified. I thought at the time, whilst looking through the hole where a headlight should be, that it wasn't a particularly solid job. Old mastic/glue was left around said hole perimeter, but reinstalling the light was easy using more mastic. The light itself is pretty small and therefore not too heavy. You will need a couple of self-tappers to make a more reliable fix, and a set of mole grips to pinch the light in place whilst the mastic sets ( DON'T drive it with the grips in place - they may fall off! ). Then just wait for the others to fall out as well! Oh, and remember to replace the internal fibre glass access cover before refitting the fixed bonnet...only an idiot would do that on a freezing cold, windy, winter Saturday afternoon.
