Service Bonnet Removal

I haven't even looked at removing this panel yet, but TVR being TVR I would imagine that it wouldn't be the most straight forward provedure on earth. Does anybody have any advice on how to remove it?

Ahhh... I see. I've never had a need to do this. You actually want to remove it completely, not just open it? I'm guessing there are some bolts at the bottom corners - that's the only place it's attached.

I noticed a very faint black scuff at the bottom of the bonnet and then a very minor hairline crack in the paint around by the badge, I rekon someone reversed into my car whilst it was parked somewhere! Just wanted to take it off, to get it repaired.

It seems to be a common problem, it certainly is with mine. Apparently the leading edge is so thin that parking sensors don't pick it up until it's to late. Why not just take the car to the body shop and let them worry about how to take it off ? I think it's just two bolts, one at either side where it hinges at the bottom.

Its been a long time since I've done it, but getting the service bonnet off was a doddle. 2 bolts - one at either pivot point. Trickiest bit was making sure you don't scratch it once you've undone 1.

The two allen bolts have a tendancy to corode and become stuck fast ! Give it a squirt of penetration oil the day before,good luck

Apparently you have to take the radiator grill off first (just had a hinge / bolt replaced when in for a service). Apparently a bit of an arse of a job...
