Finally my new airbox is finish and installed. Looks and functions very good.
I just returned from a extended testdrive... and I'm very happy!
What do you think?

With this new airbox I got ride of the oily airfilter and it takes cold air from the front of the car.
In addition to this it fits tight and wights much less :-)

How much and who makes it??? Looks to occupy far less space than the standard plastic thing. Bet it doesn't catch fire with a backfire aswell..

Looks good but where is the filter located?

The carbon work is done by a friend. It's mor a hobby than business for him.
Eggimann Cars did the installation work.
Airfilter is located at the bottom of the light box. There is already a hole in the light box to the front. So they made this a lot bigger to get fresh air from the front.
I can't tell you the cost yet. If someone is interested please let me know.
Sorry but it's not easy to explain all this in English for me...

Peter,

your English is perfect. I would be very interested to have this on my (street-)car as well, since I need a new airbox anyway.

it really looks nice and i assume that it improves the power as well? or didn't you notice any sunstantial difference?

regards,

Dries

Hello,

Looks very nice!! I´ve been looking for an airbox since over one year as my original one is falling apart and stty with getting the air from underneath the car. I would be also very interested to get one like yours. Would be interested in the price too..

@infinity and dita,

as soon as I actually know how much it would be to produce a couple I let you know.
I have the feeling that the engine breathes easier in high revs. There is no difference in sound.
Only thing what's missing now is a bonnet wiht hings to show the airbox to the people who want see it.

I have to agree with the above comment, really looks like a well designed solution.

it in fact is so beautifull, that it almost is worth the effort to make the bonnet from plexiglass!!

Peter, it looks magnificent. I too would be interested in cost. Can you keep me posted. Thanks, Neil

Ps agree re bonnet hinges - I seem to recall one or two posters' having their bonnets hinged for around 500 quid iirc.
