Passenger window dropping and door open warning

My Tuscan has decided to play funny bu**ers on the way home this afternoon.
Had to stop 3 times and check my passenger door as it decided to open the window itself and then give me the door open warning on the dash. Checked the door and it won't open unless I press the button but it's a bit disconcerting when you are driving along and your scared it'll open and smack a parked car.
On looking along the door, it does seem to be sticking out a little from the car and resting flush against it.
Anyone got any ideas what the problem could be?

I had a similar problem recently.
It turned out that the actual door lock had come loose.
I suggest you remove the stainles cover to expose the lock, and see if it needs tightening up.

Or if you are taking the plate off look at the micro switch,this activates the window when you open the door.The little mettle prong might need bending a bit to make a better contact,what happens over bumps if it isn't making proper contact it lowers the window but sends the warning bleep.Try that first.

The door isn't sitting flush though and there seems to be a bigger gap from the edge of the door to the small rear quarter window than there is on the other side so thinking maybe door has dropped slightly. You can even see it shake slightly when you go over bumps when it thinks it's open.

Tried to tighten the bolts, they went further in but the lock was just as loose as if whatever they tighten into was loose as well.
Looks like it's take the whole lock off and check behind it time to see what's wrong.
All I know is it's very annoying when it's beeping at you every 30 seconds or so!

At least you know what it is. I hope you get it sorted without too much bother.

Anyway, i'm away without the Tusc this weekend so have the work planned for Tuesday when I get back. Had a call from the garage that did my service the other week who read my plight on here. They've suggested way to fix it is to bend the sensor arm since the door lock moving is a common problem.
Gonna try that first to see how I get on. If not it's taking the lock apart and seeing what I can do.

Decided today to have a look at my door lock to see what was going on with it.
Took the plate off, messed around with the small metal arm like has been suggested, was almost there with fixing it until I decided I really wanted to know why the screws wouldn't tighten up in the first place.
Took them out, lock didn't want to come out properly so decided I didn't have time to work it out properly so put it back together again and this time, the screws tightened up perfectly and the lock now stays in place.
Means I have no idea why they wouldn't tighten in the first place but I have, albeit luckily, fixed my problem.
