AWESOME 3608 MILE EURO ROAD TRIP!!

Hi there!
Well.....some of you may remember me posting a message asking about the radar of a ferry interfering with the immobliser of the Tuscan. Well you'll be pleased to hear that not only did we have no problems with that, we've just returned from our road trip, and it was INCREDIBLE!
We began our journey by getting the ferry from Plymouth to Santander, then we went as follows: Caceres; Evora; Lagos; Guadix; La Fresneda (Teruel); Pau; Millau; Bourges, and finally Reims! We had not one problem with the Tuscan. In all 3608 miles, it only used 1/2 a litre of oil, and was driven....shall we say....as it should be driven

Looks awesome, I MUST do a trip like this late spring early summer next year!

ETA how did you do your journey planning? make it up as you go along or carefully planned out beforehand?

Maybe we should organise a group trip as it is something I have been wanted to do as well. Perhaps a 4 or 5 day trip over Easter?

I must confess - the deal was that my partner did the planning, and I did the driving!

She spent ages working out the route with places of interest and good roads along the way. We booked most of the accomodation, but did use the Michelin guide to just turn up at a few places, and that worked out well too. The only stipulation was good parking at the places we stopped at, and that all went to plan!

We'd recommend all the places we went for anyone who wants quiet roads, driving as it should be, and a damned good driving holiday!

Did you go on the D999 from Albi to Millau??, that, IMHO is the best road i have driven on [ apart from Brands!! ]

Yes, we did do the D999, and it was fantastic. Our favourite road though, was when we were going from Guadix, and we took the road from Morella to La Fresneda - both the CV125 and the N232 - they go over a mountain with switch backs, and is not only a great road but the scenery is stunning!
We did so many great roads - tough to pick our favourite but that is probably it!
