Buzzer when leaving lights on

Right - have left my lights on one too many times and this time I did not fluke it and remember/be reminded by someone.

Its a PITA getting car started so I would like to fit a buzzer that goes off then I open the door with the lights left on.

...which sounds ideal in concept, combining the interior light with the side/rear lights.

Has anyone done this on a MK1? Where did you get your rear/side light feed - does not sound easy running a wire from the boot to the interior light.

I was initially thinking you should be able to do something with the front lights and inside door lights but they do not do anything when the door is opened - I have not looked but I assume the only door operated interior light is the one behind your head?

Help appreciated…esp coming up to winter.

It does not matter which side light live feed you use, I only used the back light feed because I put the buzzer on my Cebera and the rear interior light is easy to get to and running a wire through the rear wing was very easy, once you have run your triggered earth from your interior light you can then find your nearest side light power.

My T350 buzzes to tell me when I've left the lights on. Maybe a previous owner had a kit fitted, but I do have the volume on my dash turned up, so it also buzzes when I'm indicating (and when a warning pops up!). Perhaps you could fiddle with your volume and see if that does it.

I do like your thining with the earthing etc. i will have to have a proper look to see how easy it is to feed a wire to the interior light.

Will take photos and send to mytuscan bloke!

Might be a few weeks though.

After spending the evening jump starting my car I went for a blast, parked up and very nearly left the lights on again!
