Weld gone on backbox...

Noticed it sounded a little different on the way to the airport this morning, stopped to have a look and the driver's side can was hanging down about 4" more than it should
The weld that holds the exit pipe stub (which the can clamps to) from the back-box has broke. It isn't completely gone as I couldn't pull the whole thing out by hand although it is somewhat wobbly...
Any advice on my options in terms of repair or replacement? I know it's a weak spot due to water collecting around there and the weight of the CCC's so I might want to get both sides done at the same time. Can they be re-welded?

Andy, For gods sake DON'T let anybody MIG weld it!!!(IMHO MIG is the work of the devil) Make sure they TIG weld it back on. If they TIG weld it, then it wont break again. Pity you are so far away or else I would have done it for you.Ta

TIG produces a superior wels to MIG but is a much slower process. Most welding you see is MIG as it's cheaper + quicker. but where is counts TIG is preferred
both MIG and TIG can do mild steel stainless steel and aluminim. with TIG you need a much more expensive AC setup to weld aluminium, but SS is dead easy to do
