Just a quick question; would it be fair to assume that if both the Needle and Digital display stop working that it could be the potentiometer no fault code? Whenever I accelerate fast to over 80 mph the speedo needle drops and reads 0 mph, both normal and digital.. if I accelerate slowly they will read up to 140 mph, but not above...smokin

Any tips what I should check? I thought it may be the gap setting on the potentiometer. (what should it be?)

Normally the needle is also a little erratic..rolleyes

Cheers

Hi,

Sounds like it is the speed transducer/sensor gap needs adjusting. Under hard acceleration I am assuming that the diff "moves" a little which causes the sensor to fail to see the gear teeth that fire the signal. Try checking at the back axle/diff whether the sensor is clean and, if it is, try moving it slightly closer to the gear - not sure what the optimum gap is to be honest but someone might be along to confirm shortly.... wink
