Battery dead...what to get new one

My battery has gone flat and wont accept a charge. Where am I likly to find a new one on a sunday? Tried Halfords and they were useless, all the right power but all to big and the terminals on the wrong way. The old one was a Unipart model.

Not quite so urgant now, got the old one in the house and warmed it up. Went from 3V to 5.8V over night! Have had it on charge for 12 hours now and its up to 12.8V will order a new battery anyhow and get a battery conditioner.

Arghh! Just went to take car for first spin of the new year and my battery is also totally dead, and jump leads are in the boot !!! Had the car 2 years and never had to get into the boot without power, can someone mail me the emergency entry method?

Also, total drain on a battery, is that a problem? Will it need removed and put on charge, or will jump starting it and a good run be enough to get a charge back in it?

Do you have an Anderson connector set of jump leads ?
If so, you may be able to gain access by plugging in and connecting your charger. That may give enough juice to open your doors.
As far as the total drain, mine is often flat but still showing some volts and chrges up with a decent run out.

Tony, yes a set with Anderson connector on the end .. they're in the boot though :-) I've had the battery flat a few times before, but always enough power to open the doors and the boot, but this is the first time it's been totally dead ! Cheers for the mail, i'm off now to get it started and take it for a spin. Happy New Year folks!
