Paint Matchin (incorrect vehicle plate)
Discussion
I am having the car repaired at GR and they have advised that the plate indicating that the car is painted crystal topaz is not correct, although it looks like Crystal Topaz. This has only been revealed when they have put back the newly sprayed bonnet and found it does not quite match.
RG advise that TVR did make some errors on some Mk1 Tuscan plates, getting the colour code wrong, and they will try and figure the colour out, but to help...
Has this happened to anyone before? If so what did you do. I would love to say respray the whole car but it is an insurance job, and that ain't going to happen, and funds are light to pay for it myself.
Any advice?

Although a digital photo isnt the best yardstick for colour matching the pic in your profile certainly looks a different colour to my car (also crystal topaz) yours looks more pale.
As has already been said, if its insurance job the a complete respray might be on the cards.
FWIW I have been told that Crystal Topaz is VERY hard to match anyway. certainly for touch up jobs. Might be complete bull but a local body shop turned down a grand or two of respraying the front end because they didnt think they could match it.
