Cheap AA Break down cover!

Guys,
I've just managed to cover my tuscan with breakdown cover and Breakdown Repair Cover (They pay upto the first £475 of a claim) for £54.07!! I managed to get £50 off the full price by using the quidco.com website.

If you want just want the breakdown cover its possbile to get cover from £17 ish

more to the point how do they cover the first £475? for example if say my clutch went and I had to be towed to a TVR garage would they pay the first £475?

I must admit i thought the AA had stopped covering TVRs?

If the AA man can't fix your car by the road side their extra policy (Breakdown Repair Cover) will pay the first £500.
This cover is limited to:
n a claim limit of £500 (including VAT) per paid claim, subject to £25 excess
(maximum amount payable per claim £475.00); and
n a maximum of five paid claims per period of cover.

you get towed for free, part of the recovery plan if that is what you have and then the first £500 of a claim, but read the small print! Have a look on the AA website, it says replacement through Mfr defects and I have heard of claims on TVR's being paid.

How does this Quidco thing work Andy?

Will I pay more at the merchant's site because I am using Quidco? Basically i've paid the AA £104.75 in 4-8 weeks time they will paid quidco £50 which will be put into my bank account

My Brother has claim and his worked fine

I did double check their T&S on the website. Plus when I took the policy out I used the Tuscan's Reg which AA confirm was as a TVR Tuscan!

Vehicles which can be covered under AA Breakdown Repair Cover:
Cover is available for any vehicle which is eligible for break down assistance cover under
Your AA Membership* (Personal or, as applicable, Vehicle Membership) excluding motor
caravans, kit cars, taxis, private hire vehicles, any vehicles used for hire or reward, any
vehicles used in the provision of courier services and any caravan or other trailers. Any
motorcycle must be a two wheeled motorcycle with an engine capacity of over 50cc.
Except where Multiple Vehicle Cover has been purchased and the relevant Multiple
Vehicle Cover premium has been paid, a supplementary premium will be payable for
eligible vehicles which are:
a) 10 years or more old when first registered with the Insurer; and/or

b) have 100,000 or more recorded miles at that time;
In addition, to be eligible for cover under AA Breakdown Repair Cover, any motorcycle
must be a two wheeled motorcycle with an engine capacity of over 50cc.
Please note that the age of a vehicle will be taken from the date of its first
registration with the DVLA except for imported vehicles where the month and
year of manufacture will be used to determine age.

I have had a claim accepted by the AA on my Tuscan, but you have to have broken down and recovered before they will consider a claim.
