Battery Compartment Advice
Discussion
Dear Tuscaneers - in the battery compartment, should the battery be spaced away from the exhaust heat shield material, or is it OK for the positive battery terminal to touch this?
My battery seems to be held against the heat shield, with one clamp on the side nearest the wing holding it down. If it is spaced away from the shield, what is used as a spacer?
Also, any idea where I can obtain an Anderson connector cover? Mine is cracked.
Many thanks for your advice. J

Anderson cover is here, £8. Much cheaper than you can buy from TVR specialists by a long way

As for the battery it is a bit tight in there but IIRC the heat shield is metalic so I would move that terminal pronto if its touching it. I used some rubber heat mat on the Tam to insulate the battery from the body, also plastic wrapped the cables so there was less chance of them rubbing through and earthing out.
