Tuscan Windscreen

Hello fellow Tuscaneers,
I unfortunately got a stone chip on the screen, and the usual in situ repair didn't work too well. So I have to get a new screen.
1) who supplies them?
2) any gotchas to watch out for if say Autoglass are used to do the fitment?

Autoglass have just fitted a new one for me. They get them from Peninsular TVR in Exeter. Havent seen the end result as my car is at Dulfords getting an engine rebuild but they (Dulfords) said it is fitted and seem happy with it.
If you want to go your own way Racing green can supply the windscreen too. Hope this helps

Thanks 'Board. - btw do they all have the heavily green tinted band at the top of the screen? Mine is an 'S', not sure if any differences in tint.

No mine didn't (early 2000 model) however not sure if the new one does. I am 6ft 4 so dont really need it anyway

Sorry to butt in but I have a stone chip as well that's on my to do list.

How come the repair didn't work? Was it a bad job or just a really big chip that was difficult to repair?

Also, what's the cost of a replacement screen?

If yours is a silvery coulour (it was raining at the time) then the windscreen looked fine to me (although I did just have a quick peep as I havnt seen a tuscan engineless)

Yup that is probably mine. It is very light blue. In the rain it kinda turns silver. Not quite reflex but has different tinges in different lights. (not on drugs yet by the way). I havent seen it without the engine as i live in Edinburgh.

Insurance covered mine just an excess of £60 for me. Think the cost from racing green when I phoned them was around £260 which i thought was reasonable. I aslo had a chip but it had starred straight away and was told that if they tried to fix it there was a 90% chance it was just crack. So didnt want to risk it as I had driven it to the site and they have to special order the screens.

Repair seemed a decent proposal but when the suction cup came off the resin didn't stay inside the defect (happens sometimes). Chap said it would stop it from cracking but as you can imagine once your eye is drawn to it all the time it's just irritating.
It seems that repairs never fix it completely: I was told ~60% improvement best case.
