500ml in 1000 miles - is that about right?

Engine is 4.0S, 14k miles, '06 build.

Mine uses even less than that - 4.0 S with 10k miles, mid 2004 build. Under a litre of 5w30 synthetic over the last 4k miles....

In fact the only oil loss seems to be through a leaking pressure sender (would have been replaced this weekend but sun was shining !) smile

Mine doesn't use any. Maybe I'm not trying hard enough!

I would not want to be using any more than that. Often the oil usage is dependent on how hard the car has been driven over the last 1000 miles you are measuring over.

It depends on what oil you're using. A synthetic oil will burn off less than a mineral or semi-synthetic oil and if the oil is too thin, it will burn more
