What can i say....gorgeous. But no aircon - holding me back a little

This isnt an 'S' despite the advert, and hasnt got abs
The garage arent too hot on Tuscans after a couple of calls. And its been for sale for months - i have looked at it several times. It has however done less than 50 miles since a rebuild at power with new clutch at same time, and has aircon (apparently - i will be checking!!!) so worth a look.

I looked at this 12 months ago in a different dealer in London - had been noted on the service history from Fernies that "engine showed signs of wear" so that would explain the rebuild at power - was quite tempted until I saw the note from Fernies. Was better than average when I was looking too.http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TVR-Tuscan-Convertible-4-0-S...

Can I ask why aircon is so importiant?? Its a soft top, I have had mine for 2 years now, and with trips to europe and hot summer days here, have never once felt "god I wish I had AC". The roof takes about 2 mins to take on or off once your used to it, so the thing about leaving it parked up with roof off is crap. And security is not an issue, the car has ultrasonics and again in 2 years, have never felt uncomfortable about leaving the roof off somewhere, how many tuscans do you hear of being stolen? Its not an easy car to be descrete in. Out of those I would take the black one all day long, know the owner and the car is mint, the last one looks a little odd colour choice to me, and still has amber indicators, its not an S as you already say, the gargage cannot spell, doesnt inspire me with confidence, oh and the number plate is 2 numbers away from mine!!
First one looked another ebay special too, would'nt be able to say with out a look. If you want to I would go see the car on a hotter day, hopefully this week, and see you dont need AC.
Oh forgot to say, they say it has AC that last one, when you check you need to actually take the bonnet off and see the ac pump etc, or hear the ac clutch pump kick in when you press the heater control in and the blue light comes on, as the blue light works on all of them ac or not, as I found out after I got mine ! Not that I care as im not bitter lol! No seriously I wouldnt let that one thing rule my choice.

AC is just something else to go wrong anyway. Never needed it in mine. Either roof off in summer or Winter, heaters on full blast with roof off.

I'm also a fan(no pun intended) of aircon in the Tuscan. I only use it when needed, but it makes a good bit of difference, especially in London traffic.
I often use it with the roof off, and just direct the cool air onto my tootsies during a hot summer blast.
Plenty of Tuscans for sale with aircon, so if it's a 50/50 call for you, then buy one with it.

My MK1 Tuscan did not have air-con and I did not initially spec it for the MK2, but then decided on the discounted 'S' pack which included air-con & although I do use it and is very good still prefer the roof off/rear screen out on a hot day.Certainly would not put me off buying one without.
Well its about 80% of people saying its not really so important for the aircon so maybe its something to overlook.
I was thinking more of the wife actually!! She never came in my old MGTF because of wind blast! I dont want her not to come in the Tuscan cause of it...
I think it can be retrofitted from another thread i did recently so if i decide the black one is the way to go then at least i know its possible if it causes an issue wth 'er indoors!
To be honest there arent that many with a rebuild, in the right condition and colour combintation with aircon, at the right price - if there are...show me! I wouldnt consider a car without a rebuild - and as mentioned the chassis is another important bit. The aircon is the nice to have bit - but im hoping to buy to keep so want to make sure its the right car...
