I've gone to jump into my pride & joy, now that the fine weathers returned, to find that it's not starting!
It would appear to have a flat battery even though I have a battery conditioner plugged in to the cigar lighter socket.
The display shows that it has 13.1 volts and it tries to start, but as soon as it starts to turn over, completely dies through lack of power. Then tries to arm the alarm and raise the windows etc, then, the display then shows around 12v.
Any ideas?
Knackered battery maybe?
Would it be worth trying to bump start it? Problem is if I do, is getting my car up the hill again single-handedly is a bit of an issue.

Does sound like a dead battery and though the voltage may appear to be OK at first you may not have enough cranking amps.
However!
I would check the engine earth as the symptoms are very similar and it is quite a common problem. Simply attach a Heavy Duty jump lead from the exhaust manifold to the negative terminal on the battery and see if that improves things?

It may be worth having your starter motor checked as well. I had all the signes of a dead battery and it turned out to be a lazy starter motor.
I had trouble starting it one day and called the RAC out and as soon as he got there he checked the battery voltage and got a good reading. He then said... out of curiousity can you try it again and bingo it started.
Had me baffled for ages but when starter motor was changed the problem pretty much went away... My car still drains over a period of time but think that was to doo with a faulty door closed switch which I've just changed... The window LED used to stay on all the time and now doesn't.
The starter motor is off a BMW by the way so buy it from the cheapest source if it is you starter motor.
