REALLY REALLY REALLY PI**ED OFF.
Discussion
Ok i'm going on a bit of a rant just now, bear with me.
Have had my car back for 4 weeks since getting a new clutch service, etc etc.
Been using the car quite a lot as I missed it when it was off the road so maybe this is my own fault.
Anyway, coming back from work on Friday evening about 17:00 hours, minding my own business and letting the car warm up.
Just outside the town I work in the road home is a country road with the occasional small town or farm. Just as I come up to a double bend, first to the left i'm doing 45 mph tops. Come round the first part of the corner and meet a red astra crossing the white line to cut the corner.
See it in time and obviously don't want to crash into it so pull in left. Just so happens that I live in a council area that puts roads at the bottom of any list. Rather than just running into a kerb and scuffing the outside of a alloy, there is a a huge manhole cover cut into the pavement and kerbing stones. I get onto that, hit the next straight face of kerb and there is a huge bang.
Stop the car get out and look, front wheel has a huge dent and crack through it and the back tyre has gone as well though can't see any damage to the wheel. Also popped out my nearside headlamp.
So now I have to find 2 new tyres and possibly 2 wheels, not sure yet.
Red astra driver never stopped so couldn't even take out my frustrations on him.
Don't suppose anyone is selling any 18" spiders are they?

Mate, that is awful. Red astras are the new white vans, aren´t they?

Just bought a new set, they even delivered to Germany at a very, very reasonable price. I do not know if they have silver ones...
Regards,
Björn.

I know how it feels. Have scuffed one of my Spiders pulling up to an unnecessarily tall kerb on a busy dual carriageway.
Worst wheel experience was buying a brand new set of Mille Miglia Evo rims for my Astra years ago, and 50 yards for my mate's house I had to dive for the kerb due to some tosser driving in the middle of the road. Just clipped them, and I'd only had them 2 hours.

Just been up to my work to take the wheels off. Front is definately fit for skip. Rear wheels looks fine apart from a slight scuff on the edge of the rim which is easily fixed.
Managed to tear my rear tyre which has only done about 600 miles which isn't very pleasing and front one will just get replaced even though i can't see anything wrong with it, not taking the risk.
