Unless you have already figured it out I suggest you take it to a TVR garage and get them to show you.

Unless you are a known TVR owner I would not be happy sending you the details...and even if you do know its not something you want to be doing at petrol stations!

Check you are not bumping the ani-car jack button beside the immobilisor on the dash shelf accidently, this will lock the doors and boot from the outside, hence you have trouble opening the boot at the petrol station. Alarm and disarm will fix it. The boot switch should work fine otherwise.

ha, anti car-jacking button, that always made me laugh, altough it was the in-thing in London when the Tuscan came out in 2000 ! A couple of Tuscan owners lost their rolex's, I remember one chap though got a few good punches in before they got his!

Are you sure you are pressing it correctly. I thought I had a doggy boot switch too until i was told to press right at centre of the badge.

Hi, where is this anti-hijack button you speak of? I had the same boot problem a couple of days ago and noticed that the passenger wing mirror door button didn't work from outside. Could this have been the problem?

I find I have to rock mine, from bottom of the badge to top, to pop it open every time. Pressing it in the middle just sometimes doesn't do it.

The button is on the left handside of the steering wheel next to the imobiliser socket. Its just above the dashboard shelf. Its locks the doors and boot. I always us it when driving through East London.

Thanks Gremlin thumbup. After I posted the question I found it actually mentions it in the owners handbook (which I haven't really read yet)!

Can allso find if speedo sensor not working correctly this will send a message to door and boot that the car is moving. If the speedo needle does not reset to zero in the dash pod, this could cause the boot to lock. Just a vague suggestion with your car but sufferd this problem with mine.

You really do have to find the sweet spot on the badge to open though, took me about a week to get it right.

Its very easy to adjust the sensitivity of the badge. remove one of the huge black rubber bungs inside the boot(about where your knee is!) reach up to the inside of the boot badge with a 7/8 mm spanner and just tighten the nuts slightly! Easy!

Jj - I do actually have a speedo problem. It doesn't read any speed (posted about it on here somewhere), could this be it?

How do I prove it that I an a tuscan owner? My nearest garage iS racing green and I don't really want to travel 45minutes to find out how to open my boot. If there is a way I could prove this, I will.

I've tried all sorts of points on the badge it's completely hit or miss! :0(

This is an internet forum where only those people that have met in the flesh are liklely to share information that you are asking for. I would suggest that you either go to Racing Green or you go to your nearest TVR meet. I would think that you will be getting low on fuel since you asked this question a few weeks ago IIRC.

Lol MOT ran out last weekend so I've not had to worry about it for a while. How about a piece of paper sayin, I dunno, "harvez here, help me?" would that convince people? Also slightly worried about the security of my car now as there sounds like there is a easy way in.

When or where is the next localish meet to Southampton? Sorry if that comes accross as lazy but it takes foreva to search things on this phone!

Regards

Yeah I've heard red Escorts are a Tuscan's weak spot. Just can't shake em off!

Mind you, next time you got one on your chuff, roll the window down at the next set of lights and ask him if he noticed anything dodgey about your boot switch? ideabowtie
