Ok, i realise i may get some slightly biased opinions but anyway...

I have had some pretty nice cars over the years, including a few 911s and a few Chims and a Ginetta G33, and to be honest i received very little attention in the 911s and the Chims but regularly got chatted to at traffic lights and petrol stations in the G33 simply because it was a pretty, unusual, loud little car.

The Tuscan however is a completely different beast. Yes it's loud, and pretty, but this is just weird.
Every time i fill up with petrol, every traffic light, every time i park it somewhere, there are men and women of all ages grinning and waving and giving the thumbs up. I have to allow 20 minutes for a fuel stop now because people just come over and start chatting.
I mean, this car is ASBO loud and yet when i trundle through a 30mph village i get little old ladies waving and smiling.

So - do you all find that the Tuscan seems to have more appeal to Joe Public than anything else you've ever driven? Anyone figured out why?

Indeed biased:
I used to get a lot of attention in the Griff, but nothing compared to the crowd my Tuscan attracts. I guess it's the design, it looks like a true supercar, like something from outerspace. Very extravagant.

My misses used to think it would would attract the wrong sort of attension and that people would just think what a cock. In the last two weeks its had more thumbs up, waves and comments than i have had hot dinners. It even had two guys fighting over it as too which one got to wash it.

Totally agree - I'm on my 7th TVR at the moment and none have come close to the attention (admiration?)that the Tuscan gets everywhere.

I think it's just that they are so rare, yet distinctive and instantly recognisable as TVRs that sets them apart - all my other TVRs have been very special too, but you would see people trying to look at the badges to see what they were, whereas now it just seems to be shout 'WOW - TUSCAN' or 'TVRRRRRRR!'

There is something very special about the shape of a Tuscan, Its almost aquatic, and looks alive. Look at the angular styling of the BM Z's and the curves of a T. and thats probably the key, It Dares to be different and the difference works.

Certainly been a lot more pointing and staring, well, outright gawping mostly, since i had the Tuscan. People always assume they are mega money too! I have already had one guy ask me straight out if i worked in the city and how much did it cost....bizzarre.

They look like nothing else, sounds like cloud9 and go like the clappers, so no wonder they get attention.

Oh...and you arent assumed to be a w@nker cause you drive one, which is nice for a supercar wink

have driven very nice cars in my life
de tomaso, corvette (69 and 92), 911's, e-type, maserati merak ss, ferrari 308, R alpine 310, 2 x esprit and so on
have never seen so many people sitting backwords in their car passing by.
yesterday a belgium policecar pulled up next to me with both policemen sitting there with the tumbs up.
that's weird.
i have a stty alarm on my car.
if you come to close it blinks. if you don't go away the alarm go's off.
i had it with me today and parked it in the company's garage. The alarm went off all day @#$%^&*
have to get that sorted. everybody likes to look inside the car

Because they're not very common and they look so different to almost everything else you see on the roads. That rarity has probably allowed them to avoid the 'rich w@nker' tag as most people have no idea what they cost, whereas most people know something like a Porsche / Ferrari / whatever costs a fair bit (when new.....no-one thinks about second hand cost at first sight).

Oh, and anyone who's seen 'Swordfish'. biggrin Thanks, John. thumbup

Used my Tuscan to take eldest daughter to her wedding - looked stunning (daughter looked good too) - and probably had (nearly) as many photos taken as the newly weds!

As soon as I get some pics of the Tusc at the wedding (forgot to take my own camera - too busy rehearsing f.o.t.b speech) I will post.

GRIN FACTOR:
lasts from ear to ear,
Planting the loud pedal in third,
Playing in the rain and the snow,
The moment a neverimpresther or heaveho pulls long side,
smiles per mile,(driver looks like they've had there throat cut)
Cheap as chips,
The way it makes me sprout horns every time i get behind the wheel,
Mood changing ability, get in in the foulest of moods 10 mins and 3000 miles of rubber later ya laughing,
Setting the neighbors alarms off at 4am

SIDE EFECTS;
Paranoia,
They eat rubber,
They are more addictive than crack cocaine (so im told),
They are feminine at times: (stubborn awkward and hard to move),not to mention unpredictable and most break down each month,
Always on an impossible mission: (these cars will self destruct within 3,000 miles)
Can be like a fat bird, fun to be with but you wouldn't want to be seen with one

I can only think that he had never seen one before, he looked awe struck!!

It was quite a fun experiance and i would recommend it, if you dont mind sitting in traffic for an hour or so!!

One thing I love about the tuscan is I dont seem to worry so much if I park it in a carpark. It seems to have so much respect from all ages even the chav's stand and take vid/photos on their phones rather than key it.

However the attension can backfire, came back from my MOT at lunch and couldnt find a parking space in the public carpark so snuck into one of the visitor spaces (1 hour max limit) at work. When I left the reseptionist came out to tell me that she couldnt call the clamping company as the car was too nice and she would let me off if I could take a photo of her sat in it lol. Down side is I dont think I will get away with it again.
