Tuscan ground clearance

Hi all,

I hope to get a tuscan 1 towards the end of the year. I first need to work out if it will clear the steep ridge into my garage. Does anybody know what the wheel base is and what the measurement to the lowest point on the car is.

I may have to lift my drive and relay it. Its solid concrete too :-(

The clearance is a bit variable....seems to depend how they've been set up. You should have no problem over speed bumps etc if you take it slow, and you can always put a couple of bits of wood down if you really need to. Don't let it put you off.

If its any help - on both my previous cars (1 regular suspension, 1 with gaz golds) there's no problems getting in and out of multistory carparks, or using my underground garage. speedbumps were no problem with both either

Backwards isn't a good option due to the exhsusts sticking out low and quite far from the rear axle.

My driveway tought me this, luckily was going very slow!

Can't give you exact numbers but mine is on standard suspension.

Go's over speed bumps if going slowly.

Never tried a multi story but with the turning circle, wouldn't wat to.

When I got the tracking done after a slight incident with a kerb the other week, went onto the ramps of the local tyre place with about 1/4 inch to spare.

Stock the lowest point is the rear boxes on the exhaust, right by the rear axle line. Should be 4".
Mine's quite heavily lowered at about 2.5" (nitrons) and i still clear speedbumps (slowly!) and can get in and out of multi-storey car parks.

What you're going to have to watch is the exhaust cans - effectively your departure angle. Same as if you're driving the Tuscan on to a ferry or a low loader...

Ideally get a local Tuscan owner to come round and see if you can get it on the drive.

Remember if you can take the drive at an angle you are more likely to clear it than straight on.

I've a fairly big lip on my garage (maybe 3 inches) and the Tuscan goes in and out OK. The silencers do clip the floor if I leave the garage too quickly (going out forwards) but slow and steady is OK. A couple of bits of long flat 2 inch plank is excellent but I generally just go slowly.

In no circumstances should the entrance to your garage play a part in the decision whether or not to buy a Tuscan. Car first, arrangements later.

Thanks everyone for the replies.

I had a lotus 7 style kit car and had to get out the car and literally lift the back of the car up and waddle in to clear the ridge at the top of the slope
I then had an evo VI lowered about 30-40mm and the exhaust (blitz) used to catch big time.

It wont stop me getting a Tuscan. I have my heart set on one now. As i say it will be later in the year. I have enough to buy one but I want a decent repair fund too so more saving required.

Just back today after hiring an R8 for 24hrs for my 30th birthday. Only choice was an R8 or a DB9. Decided a DB9 is more suited to a 40th birthday. Had a great drive round Loch lommond area. The hire company had a zonda too. My dream car, but way out of budget and the insurance excess was the cost of a Tuscan. Mind you the Veron excess was £100,000 that was down south so never saw it. Sat in the zonda though and revved it up. I felt 10 years old. It was ace.
