Alarm / Unlocking Issues On Tuscan S Mk2
Discussion
Morning.
Well I picked up my first Tuscan yesterday and problems started already! (Not whinging, I know it was only a matter of time!)
Just after 6am this morning, the alarm went off & I didn't get down to the keys before it stopped. Then 2 mins later it went off again. This time I hit the button on the fob and it stopped. Decided that as it was safely blocked in the drive and neighbours are less than friendly that I would leave it unlocked till a more sensible time for noise making!
Anyway, just been out to see what could be the problem and it wouldn't let me in! After locking/unlocking a few times I finally got the passenger door open. Made the mistake of getting in and shutting the door only to find I couldn't get out! The window switched and door opening dial also were flashing like a council estate at Christmas. Again after a few on/offs with the ignition I got the door open and got out.
I now notice that whether its locked or unlocked according the the indicator flash sequence, the doors won't open. The boot however will! Also, when the boot switch is pressed, the passenger window comes down half way!
I wondered if anyone has any ideas as to what could have caused this! It is peeing down with rain but as far as I & previous owner know, there isn't an issue with leaks.
It was fine when I parked it up last night!
Sorry for the waffly post but any help would be greatfully received.

Congrats on the buy..... You will not regret it.
Sounds like you just have low battery voltage. Putting the car on trickle charge over night should fix it, but the wet wont help.
The alarm has a low voltage detection mode that makes it go off if the battery voltage drops too low, and the windows & doors issue points in the same direction. I've had them forget to open properly or shut again when I've left mine for too long.
Might be an idea to get the battery changed at the next service.

Thanks for the advice. It had a new battery fitted by TVR Power on 30th April so shouldn't be that. And as for the passenger door button, it still has the rubber over it.
If it's raining hard up there could still be water ingress.Jim Clark said:
The strangest thing to me is that the passenger window comes down half way when the boot release is pressed!
Right.... I seem to have sorted the problem but not sure how so I shall put it down the the quirks of a TVR!!!
I unlocked it using the keyfob, opened the boot & locked it using the keyfob, getting the usual 4 beeps and flashes. I then unlocked it and closed the boot. Everything now opens when it should and when locked the boot won't open anymore (or put the window down!)
At least now I can go for a drive once the roads have dried out a bit! And I am grateful it happened in the privacy of my own drive and not at a petrol station or other public place to save me feeling like a fool!!

I think it a poor connection (slightly corroded plug) or faulty microswitch.
It can be also control box. Are the windows open and shut correctly in sequence to door opening?
Only can found by yourself if you a good electrican.
Best is to look out for a good garage.

It seems to be ok now, just had one more time where the passenger door wouldn't open from the inside. Don't think anyone was trying to break in as it went off twice, second time I was looking at it when it went off too. The night it went off, there had been a massive amount of rain so maybe that caused it. The boot wasn't open as tehe alarm didn't beep when setting it. Only when I did it intentionally to try and rectify the problem. Anyway, I'm not worrying about it.
