Factory Warranty

Does anybody have any details of what was covered under warranty with the original factory warranties please.

i.e. 1st year, 2nd year, 3rd year.

When I purchased my car I agreed with the dealer a sale in which they would honour the original 3 year factory warranty. Dealer is sticking to the apparent letter of the law regarding what is and what is not covered and I would like to know where I stand.
