Meta alarm, help please!

Hi all

My alarm has not worked since i bought the car 2 years ago, the indicators flash when the sensor is breached and when the car is locked/unlocked but there is no noise from the siren, had the siren out today and had a look inside and it looks almost new, theres only a very small amount of corrosion around one end of one of the green batteries inside the siren, could this be the reason for it not making any noise or is there something else i need to look at first. Also can i just replace the batteries, if so any ideas where to get them from?
