cant select any gear!!

One day I'll post something to help others!! Went to drive the car on a lovely sunny sunday, started fine, then went for 1st gear, wont go in, or any other gears for that matte, clutch seems ok. Turned engine off then could select any gear but when turned over it trys to lurch forward even with clutch pedal fully depressed! Any clues guys, syncromesh?, clutch? As always any suggestions greatly appreciated.

If its been fine up until now, poss fulid has leaked out of the slave cyl. Check your Brake/Clutch resevoir above your pedals.
Does the clutch pedal feel light?

Yeah, same happened in my Chim recently - had a leak off the master cylinder and fluid level was low. Hope thats all it is but the teeth sometimes go on the clutches in Tuscans making 1st gear hard to select. Eventually all gears affected. Did you notice any difficulty when driving it previously?

Must say over the past few weeks it did seem a bit sticky getting into 1st gear but will check levels when I get home, had a new master cylinder fitted 6 months ago so hope that should be ok.

I had the same problem with mine a couple of weeks back, put it away in the garage all fine, next time out it would not go into gear. Ended up having a new clutch as a finger had broken off.

Same for me, gear changes were slowly getting harder, new clucth fixed it:-(((

Your clutch has gone. Most likely the slave cylinder.

Sorry to say it but that's the clutch. Possibly the slave cylinder but if like my case, it was a few teeth having been snapped off the clutch and a new one was needed!

Ihad a new clutch and slave ,sounds like you need a clutch to me .tvr power were the cheapest.If you need a good cheap mechanic ring me colin 07711919568 essex .tvrdave.

Could be,
Clutch diaphram fingers broken
Salve cylinder seals gone
Master cylinder seals
Lack of clutch fluid
all these are fairly common but the last two are easy fixes and cheap whereas the first two will cost dearly and are best both replaced together despite the cost.

Ok guys, ta for the input, new clutch it is then! Im glad I love this car or I'd be saying goodbye, but when the sun shines and the roof is of it has such 'presence', you all know what I mean!! Thanks again.

having the same problem now. Is there a way to temporarily refill the clutch fluid tank so that I can at least drive to the closest garage?

I would say you have nothing to loose by topping up the clutch fluid, it could just be that it's empty anyway if your lucky. When you have topped it up, pump the pedal and check again. If you are competent with cars you would be best trying to bleed the system.

Ive done it all clutch ,slave,clutch master and the brake master,Emgine mounts,gaz shocks.If you want any advice ring me colin 07711919568 essex.

I don't own a Tuscan so don't know exactly how to get to the clutch fluid but it will be on the drivers side over the footwell, possibly in the wing as on other TVRs.

It is behind the pedals on the Tuscan. It is a pain in the arse to get to.
