Am I overheating ??

I posted for the first time earlier but it was on the general board.Now I am here with fellow Tuscan owners maybe I can get more assurance.
I just picked my Tuscan up from the garage....again....and the water and oil tempratures seemed a bit high so I kept having to pull over.The water reached 98 and the oil 95 .Am I being too cautious ? It has always run high but I thought that it was due to a dodgy fan.I just get a bit nervous incase it breaks down again in heavy traffic.I think if you are a bloke you can get away with it but girl just gets pointed and laughed at playing with big boys toys.

I drove mine into London yesterday and the traffic was a nightmare when leaving. The highest temps I saw was water 94 and oil 93. Do both of your fans kick in?

Same as macey here, although when in traffic the water can reach 96-98 but then second fan kicks in & will bring it back to 92ish

First off I think you need to get the actual temps checked on a laptop (dealer should be able to do this for you) as the pod readings use different sensors, certainly for the water anyway.
My T350 water reading for example is around 92-95 and sometimes hits 102 at standstill but on the laptop it's a pretty much constant 88-92 and very steady.
Oil temp on mine is 80-90 in traffic, dropping to the 60s on the move. 100deg for oil is nothing to worry about, though the handbook does state to keep revs below 4500 (IIRC) if the oil hits over 110.

It sounds like the usual TVR paranoia! It doesn't sound worrying.

You can check the cooling system quite simply - get her warmed up, then park up. One fan should come on at 92°C, the second one at 96°C, and the temperature should drop until they both stop. If this cycle happens, it is all basically working.

Temperatures over 100°C are a big worry, though that can be a dodgy sensor. Ditto any visible steam, though if you've topped her up that could just be her spitting the excess out! I'd get professional help in either case, mind, just to be sure.

Would a leaking radiator cause temperatures to rise? I was out at the weekend and saw 100, at one point it went to 110 then instantly to 96 then 99. Something tells me i need a new temp sensor and have the actual temps looked at. I am havin a new radiator fixed next month after i get paid either way as aslight leak issue is an issue i guess... Although i havnt noticed a leak i guess who can argue with the proffessionals...

It certainly would!

But if the temperature is up and down rapidly it is more likely a dodgy sender/connection. Get her checked though, a real 110°C won't do your engine any good.

Ok cool thanks for the advice. I think mostly due to a dodgy sensor but will defo get the radiator done next month. It was next on the list...
