Hi,
Found this video on Youtube. Somebody on this PH forum? Would like to see some pictures of this job. Not as spectacular as the Speed Six though, but surely not a straightforward job either!! Wonder if the main bonnet fits!!

Yes that's mine! FFS....I never knew SPC had videoed my car! It seems a bit much to put it up on YouTube without even telling/asking me! Cheeky f
kers!!! I won't be going back there but not just for that reason......
Anyway, yes it's a pain in the arse of a conversion but a very economical one compared to other options/conversions touted around. The main bonnet fits fine, although it is a little tighter than I would like. I'm just about to pull the engine out again for some major tweaks that should see it all fit nice and snug and give me a lot more clearance.

I think it's been covered before on another thread some time ago......so what do you want to know?? Still a work in progress.....hence, my annoyance at SPC posting the Dyno run. The project was started by a well known TVR "Specialist" who made an absolute f
k up of it which resulted in completely re-doing the entire install myself! It's a Ford 302 bolted on to the T5 box....Nice and simple.....No chassis mods....at all....what else...I'll have a think.....

It indeed would be normal to ask first in case SPC did shoot the video. On the other hand, this a like a fresh breath of air. Lots of people are still debating if a conversion like this can be done without too many mods, especially the fit with all the curves in that bonnet. I would like to see some pics and details.

Yes....it was definitely SPC who posted the video. The previous thread on PH regarding my car resulted from them using a picture of it to sell Dyno time on e-bay!
Yeah, I completely agree....I put the car into SPC to get some fueling issues resolved. Unfortunately, they were unable to sort out why it's running soo rich. I'm hoping once the fuel problem is sorted it will deliver a respectable HP and Torque figure.
Ideally, I wanted to have that all sorted before it went up on YouTube, etc. It was only ever meant to be a straight swap; no massive power increases like the amazing Speed Eights conversion. I just wanted something reliable with easy DIY service intervals whilst being cheaper than a single full rebuild.

Sounds sweet, My dad has a fully prepped 351 windsor engine sat in his garage going spare and you now have me thinking!
From what I can remember a 351 Windsor won't fit as it's just slightly too big....It's only an inch wider and an 1.5inches longer but thats enough! Especially, as its already tight.dvs_dave said:
Sounds nice, (but so does a Speed 6) although if that dyno plot is anything to go by, crankshaft HP of 296 HP is not very impressive at all which begs the question why bother?
You'll need to be doing some hefty mods (in the order of +100-150 bhp) to make it worthwhile.
