Window drops and "Door Open" on LCD when driving
Discussion
Can anyone tell me how to solve this problem. I recently fitted new rubber seals to the whole car and included the small rubber which attaches to the door. However, when driving and going over a bumb or my knee presses against the door, the window drops and the LCD shows a waring that the door is open. If you pull the door inwards slightly while driving the warning goes away and the window can be closed again.
Can the warning sensor be altered?

If you take off the shiny chrome plate that the door catch goes into, you'll see underneath it can be moved back and forth by loosening the 2 allen key bolts. You'll see that the sensor has a small springy bit of metal that presses on a micro switch to tell it when the door is closed.
I find if I do the allen bolts up too tight it stops the door from releasing at all so it has to be a little loose. As your new door deals probably mean the door doesn't close quite as much as before, you have to find a compromise between the door closing in the latch, but also making sure it's far enough in to press on the microswitch.

Glad it helped Curdster.
Karlx - if you can see the thin strip of metal then it should be OK. The back of the latch presses on it when closed - you can test this by closing the latch with your finger - just press the door release button by the stereo to open it again. I found that bending the metal strip so it pressed the microswitch a little harder helped on mine.
