The Mysterious case of the self-healing Speed 6
Discussion
It's a miracle!!!
There I was back in June in a state of depression with what seemed like a terminal knocking noise from somewhere....
The Tuscan's been sitting at the local TVR specialist while I decided what to do. Decided to ship the whole car from N.Ireland where I live to Jason at Str8six, rang the garage to arrange pickup only to hear that he had just started the car and the mysterious knocking noice had disappeared!!
Rushed up there for a test drive and, sure enough, engine seems fine. I have now done a 100 mile test drive on a mix of roads, revs etc and all seems well.
Not exactly sure what the problem might have been - perhaps a sticky valve the garage thinks? Question is, will it appear again? Only one way to find out - keep driving it!
So, my recommendation when engine seems to have developed a problem - leave it for a couple of months and it'll heal itself!!
And the weather's nice!

I had a knocking noise that I thought was engine related, increased with rev's. Took it to dulfords who also thought the same thing (which was good as it prooves I am not a spanner) after a bit of pokeing it turned out to be a loose vent vibrating through the dash and into the engine bay. Had to take the dash out but it could have been worse.
Any way thats a long way of saying yours could have been a simular thing.
