I took the door card off again yesterday as assumed it had slipped down due to the awfull rattle/ noise I get from it when driving along going over bumps etc...

Whilst the noise has improved it is still there irked

So was wondering if anyone had any tips to improve the seating of the door card?

Also I do remember reading something about putting foam inside the door card to make it sound more solid when closing, and eliminate rattles this way? Has anyone tried this?

Anyone possibly taken any photos of their improvements to the door card seating and possible ways of putting foam in?

Are you sure it is not the window rattling, when wound down??

When the Window is wound fully up the noise will go away if this is the fault.

To be honest my window rattles when all the way up not down. Its a different noise to the window, definately something to do with the door card confused

Mossy.

Have you replaced the rubber seal on the front edge of the door. I have done this on mine to cure water leaks, and when re-fittnig the door card, found the fit to be very tight.

Funny you mention that Curdster as Sunday had a repair day on the car (inside only)... so armed with a tube of glue, tape and a couple of screwdrivers set about tidying up various bits and pieces.

Anyhow glued various seals and bits of interior back into place and one of these was the rubber seal that runs around the inside of the door card (towards the hinge part of the door) Trouble is im still getting this horrible noise from either the door card panel or the panel covering the seat belt loom but as that panel is fixed in pretty tight am not convinced it is this cover. What im thinking is getting a load of thick foam to stick in the bottom section of the door (so as not to effect the window opening mechanism)so the door card will squeeze tight against it and hopefully stop the panel moving about and perhaps give the door more solid feel, Im sure somebody else has done something similar with good results. scratchchin

What I find amusing is when i do cosmetic maintenance on the car I always end up using lots of glue, perhaps a bit of tape and plenty of colourful language got to love TVRs! hehe
