Well it had to go on holiday didn't it right down in Bordeaux. My thinking is that it is false economy just to replace the slave cylinder & not the clutch but any advice gratefully received. What about the Raceproved set up or a combination of the two i think i have read elsewhere. Is there a guide to changing the clutch on this forum & does anyone have the torque settings ?

I think TVR Power have a deal on for clutches at the moment. Give Dom a ring.

Thanks for the vote of confidence re the decats thumbup My Tuscan (55 Plate) has the original slave and clutch after 32,000 miles, so from my point of view, I think they are OK smile I have, however, heared some "not so good things" about the race proved clutches

I've just had my clutch and slave changed. My mechanic (Matt at Sebring) recommended a combo of TVR Power clutch with raceproved slave.

As for Powers amazing deal IIRC it's £700 for the clutch fitted, plus VAT then plus the cost of the slave, Matt charged me £1 whole pund under this at normal rates.

I've got the raceproved clutch and slave and it's very good and has coped well with London traffic over the past 20k odd miles and feels as good as when it was first fitted.

I did have one problem with it though when it was new in that the friction material came off the plates causing the clutch to fail. It was identified as a faulty batch of friction plates and was replaced without question. I still had to pay for it to be re-fitted though which was rather annoying. Hey ho, that's the risk you take with supplying your own parts to fit.

Ian - Just popped onto the forum, and saw you post about the clutch cylinder going. Really sorry to hear this, and especially as you were on your european drive. Don't it always happen at the worst time.

Hope you got the car back ok, and she's sorted and back on the road. How did the rest of the drive go.

Best Regards

Jim (Ian's cars previous owner).

Jim fortunately it was the day before we came home & she was great before this but i think the heat & traffic in Bordeaux whilst looking for the hotel were the problem but the nitrile seals are crap & one of the other cars had the same problem last year but this is the pleasure of owning a SP6 engined car. Will change the clutch while its out. Have you got the T350 yet ?
