help my tuscan feel stable
Discussion
Guys,
Above 100mph the car requires A LOT of concentration to feel in control.
Now i know my GEO needs doing, but my 9 year old standard shockers are ready for the bin.
Now options and your opinions are welcome -
1. Racing reds - Affordable and str8six recommend these
2. Nitron sport - £995 so a litte OTT.
3. GAZ - £600 for these, not sure on spec.
Im really favoring the racing reds, as they are made by nitron who have one of the best reputations in the world for high end quality shockers.

yeah i heard the tuscan is a handful at higher speeds, but getting to 100+ is so quick, that it feels pointless not really being able to go any quicker through fear of death.
I think ive gotta be realistic in terms of cost though, and with the other bits and bobs i wanna do i might go with racing reds.
Welcome any opinions if anyone is running these.
Nitrons are a little out of my price range for shocks at the moment, with a respray pending in Jan too.

Power recommend rr too off course nitrons would be better but double the price i have them on my T350 £600
For some reason not that popular people favoring gaz but with recent events the tide might turn.
Mines in for a geo so i will see if there better than the origionals now there bedded in.
I too suffer scary moments at high speed.
Should'nt your title say unstable?

If you REALLY want stability at high speed - put a large "F1" style wing on the boot.
I would not do a track day without one. To experiment I took it off at Marham and gently slipped gracefully off the track! With the wing on it feels so planted, the difference is remarkable coming into a high speed corner at 150mph, all the "twitchyness" simply disappears.
It seems to cost around 3mph top end speed.

I had really knackered original shocks and now I have got Racing Reds and they seem OK. The tyres seem to remain in contact with the tarmac and all four scrub off evenly. I think there were probs with the early batch??
If the car is twitchy you probably need to adjust the camber. I have mine set to two degress cause I like it like that and the "turn in" is more pronounced. It is pretty nervous on bumpy roads, but sorts itself out the faster you go.

You will get more benefit from having a proper geo done than by replacing any single component IMO. I can't speak highly enough of the work Chris did in setting my car up, the difference was night and day and that was after I'd replaced everything underneath.

RiddleMcFiddle,
before Nitrons, and geo set up, very skittish, after, and 2 days TVR Ride drive learning how to drive the beastie, it turns out the nut behind the wheel is probably the best investment you can make. The car is far exceeding my driving ability, but with the combo of the two, the faster u travel, the more planted it feels (IMHO)
I got 173 at Bruntingthope airway, and chickened out, car still pulling as steady as anything. Since then, no issue with spirited driving,
Enjoy
