I had the same problem and bought a new control unit only to find my exsiting one had started to come unplugged. Its located under the radio after removing teh centre gear console.

if not that have a look at the small door switch behind the silver plate where the door catch is. 3 small philps screws hold teh plate on and it behind there.

it won't be the control unit because the window still go's up/down (only not far enough)
i think the second option will be it
the window wont rise further than when with door open and shows "door open" on the display.
so there must be something wrong with the door switcht

opened and had a look at the door switch
i can hear the click when i push it back so it won't likely be the switch either

stupid thing is that i made a test drive
at the beginning the window didn't come up
after a while it did come up
after parking the car it doesn't come up again
??????

I promise you that my this happened to mine. It was just not plugged in correctly, so sometimes making the connection and sometimes not.

Mine also has a join in the wiring behind the panel which the seat belt pases through. You could check that for a break/poor connection ?

fixed
it was dirt and grease in the doorlock and the fixing screws of the lock werent fully thightened
when the window unit doesnt get the signal that the door is closed it doesnt raise the window
a cheap fix
