Brand New Tuscans

Just having a flick through Racing Greens stock - they have a selection of brand new Tuscan and Tuscan 2 Mk2s for sale, starting at £43K and going up to £55K for a FFF converted one.

Now unfortunately I've never been in a financial position to buy a new Tuscan, but was wondering if anyone would consider paying that sort of price for one given the current state of the company?

Used sags sell for 35k plus so I dont see why they would not sell a new Tuscan for only 8k more. (Although the FFF seems a tad expensive but i have not seen the advert so it may include more than just that).

Either way, with the development of new parts and improved availability I dont see the state of the "TVR" brand being an issue at all. I presume these cars are warrented by RG, I expect the finish is on par if not better than from the factory too.

personally id buy a lightly used sagaris instead. I personally think its a nicer car overall.

I think plenty of people will want them them, once the "recession" is over. You can see enthusiasts snapping up Sags and Tuscan 2s now. Realising that if they want to upgrade from their Griffs or Chims, that there will not be an opportunity in the future, with no new TVRs being made or likely to be. Once the City boys have sold them, the enthusiasts will hold on to them, and there will be very few hitting the 2nd hand market.... IMHO of course.

In spring I met the Italian TVR importer UK Garage in Bergamo . The owner is informing us that he could make a new Tuscan from leftover spares and now he is advertising (see Ebay.it under TVR Tuscan) with a Tuscan Mk2 model (year 2009) for the price of 99 000,-- Euro. He is also telling that he has a speed 12 with a Italian licence plate. I do not know what his real story is because I did not see any evidence in Bergamo. Who knows more about the leftover bodies of the Tuscan?

As far as I am aware there is only ONE Speed 12 road registered...

I'm sure it would be much appreciated if you could do a bit more digging. I'm tempted to think the emergence of anther S12 is unlikely but you never know.

He has on his stocklist a lot of exotics. When I met him I only saw one Tuscan Mk 2.

I'm sure this ukgarage place has come up before on Piston Heads... I don't think he's totally for real (or at least his cars)... As you say the Speed 12 is W112 BHG ... and some of the photos are from Back Home'06... The Tuscan Convertible (new) which he calls a Spider is an TVR artist impression picture....Take it all with a pinch of salt..

if you look at the classifieds you'll see that a substantial part of his stocklist derives from copying and pasting adverts taken straight from pistonheads
I'm not sure if the original advertisers know that their adverts and photographs are being stolen in such a way. If they were unaware of it, it would make for an interesting case of copyright violation

Back to the main topic. Can he or others build up new cars from the remaining parts? UK garage is advertising with "new" Tuscan's. Who knows the situation about the remaining body 's?

Racing Green has the last incomplete Tuscans from Multipart, when I was last there in June there were three or maybe four of them, but they were not complete i.e. no engines, brakes etc. Thoes items were to be to customers specification.

Given the last Tuscans were over £50k new I don't think £55k is unreasonable at all. You could easily argue that with the FFF you're getting more for your money from RG than TVR gave you back in 2006.

However, you don't get a choice of colour for that price as far as I know.

Having said that I believe my car is much better now than it was new. I have spent plenty of time and money getting everything spot on and all it should be. There must be plenty of other TVRs that have been carefully perfected by owners, such as Graham Varley's Sagaris.

There are some very good 2nd hand cars out there I'm sure and they offer outstanding value for money as they are broadly priced the same as any other car of similar age/mileage.
