Raceproved Window Clips

Got a set of these clips today with no instructions.
Remove old clip and screws.
I assume i drill the bulkhead for the bolts and remove the carpet so i can fit the nuts.
Do the cushion buttons go inbetween the clip and window.
Search down sorry.

Fitted them today.
Decided to use the bolts so had to drill the FG
As for the carpet cut a slice into the carpet for my fingers can't see the cut once pressed back in.
Used a small piece of velcro on the clip.
Job done!

It appears I've managed to strip the threads on both new window clips. Will need to order another set and in the meantime switch back to the plastic clips.

Anyone else with this problem?

Hi Gnome,

Would you, by any chance, be prepared to see your old plastic clips go to a new home? I've been trying to source a replacement as one snapped some time back. I considered the Ali clips but I take me rear screen out almost everyday provided that its not raining so they'd be too much faff.

Maybe you could try re-tapping and inserting stainless helicoils.

Mine are now stripped after 6 months.
I can see the problem if you don't get the bolt bang inline it soon strips.
Having a peice of velcro under the catch has made the problem worse with hindsite.
I will see if i can get them tapped up to the next bolt size.
Old clips will be going back on for now.

I don't understand why they don't just make metal versions of the factory clips? They work the best and are much more convenient.
