Cracked Front Bonnet
Discussion
Sadly whilst parking I managed to knock the front of the car against a fixed bollard..
the botton edge of the bonnet is scuffed and there is an slight 1" crack. Any ideas for a temporary solution/touch up? Someone mentioned that I would have to get the whole front resprayed as the car's the 'swordfish' colour?! Cost?

Take it to a few GOOD tvr bodyshops and get some quotes. you then can make the decision viz paying for yourself or claiming on your insurance with possible loss of NCB and the costs therafter. Brace yourself as it could be more expensive than you thought.

Thanks Steve..it's literally a long scuff along the front lip edge and a small crack to the front end..noticable more on closer inspection..but i'd like to get it sorted now, incase the crack gets larger? Any ideas on what ££ I would be looking at? Thanks
Around 6 months ago I got a quote for my front bonnet following some t
t of a driver reversing and butting up to my car in a parking space.Wasn't too bad at £450 if I recall. My colour is a type of flip being crystal blue topaz but I dont think it would be as expensve per litre as your swordfish colour so you couldbe looing at anything up to erhaps £700? maybe?
I use BeeGee Coachcraft in New Malden. http://www.beegeecoachcraft.co.uk/ you need to speak to Gary. He is quite busy but worth getting a quote from. He has previously sprayed a new front MK2 Grille for me (twice! had a slight accident following the first time) both times the clour has matched perfectly and I have been 100% happy with the results.
He does a lot of TVRs, and even had a Ferrari F40 in there the last time I went down. Only downside is you may have to wait a couple of weeks to book in.
Until you get used to where the front end of these cars are, always jump out and check distance prior to butting up against walls, posts etc... takes longer but worth it
