What is the worst that can happen?
Discussion
Hi all,
Suspect you are all going to shout some sense into me but here goes.
Whilst searching for a late, low mileage griffmaera I have been offered a 2000 tuscan with 20,000 miles on it and it is cheap such that I am likely to buy it unseen!
No rebuild yet and reported as mechanically sound but I am factoring in the cost of a rebuild and it still seems cheap. I was going to pay to have it inspected but assuming it isn't stolen or cat D listed (I am going to HPI it) what is the worst that can happen?
Oh and I am going to be driving this as my everyday car, am I mad? I am guessing i could get 6 months before a rebuild or buy it, decide I don't like it and trade it in for a griff having made a profit.
Who should I get to inspect it?
Sorry for all these questions and thanks for any advice
Peter

Yes its too good to be true.
5K ?!
Think he is desperate and is abroad so needs to drop the price so some idiot (me) will buy it unseen.
It will be done through an intermediary finance company such that if it is not as advertised, I send it back and the finance company give me back my hard earned.
think I could get a lot of work done for what I am saving.

You are joking right? You don't seriously believe that this isn't a scam?5K ?!

It's the oldest scam in the book my friend. Don't do it as you won't see your £5k again....or the car.

Is the car on an autction site??
4.3 dyno results?
Im confused? how does this relate to the car you are interested in?
I have only ever seen one car go for that kind of money...on eBay...it was back on there two days later!
Cars that cheap can easily swallow £8 - 10k to put back to how they should be...if it isnt a scam (which sounds likely!).

lol, because I would immediately get down to power for the upgrade as I would have the spare readies to do so if I was only spending 5 on the car. Turns out (not surprisingly I guess) the scam is in the finance company that doesn't really exist.
Took a while to figure all this out but think they just set up finance company type webpages (with nice big name logos etc) provide some links and then do a check on any car thus getting info and setting up a further bogus email that fits the name of registered keeper etc..
Sorry I wasted anyones time (was gonna look anyway but got too excited and posted here first0.
Better buy myself a nice simple griffmaera and keep saving for a tuscan at a later date before I do something stupid!
Sorry all
