Its a new year and time for a change

Due to upgrading our house later this year and our wedding next year I have come to the very very hard desision of letting the Tuscan go. It is quite easily the best car I have ever owned, unfortunatly I just wont be able to keep the thing on the road with the higher mortgage and wedding expenses.
I will however still be in a TVR probably a Chim 500 (if I can find one) or an early Griff. Plan is to then sort out finances get wedding out the way and see how much I can save, plan is then save like buggery for either a Tuscan 2 or a sag

Don't do it. I did something along these lines and regretted it severely for years.
If you're needing lolly then it must be tempting. However, it could cost you more in the long run when you try to replace the car you once had (and that you know the history of) - and every time you do that you are putting money in the salesman's pocket.

You will never get another car company making such mental beasts for the cash. Come on - just look at it! Stunning, no doubt. Gulp - could I suggest they're getting collectable...?

You're correct Daston - you won't actually save much but you will still have the car. I wouldn't worry too much about the service history as your MOT will show little or no miles would have been done due to storage.I on the other hand would consider selling the car for the right money and geting done what needs to be done wedding/house wise then making a speedy return to TVR ownership as soon as funds allowed - making sure that you buy another good car (or your old one back off it's new owner).
Good luck with whichever route you go down - I am sure you are sensible enough to make the right decision for you!

If you sell for a quick injection of cash, only to return in the near future you will end up losing out twice if not three times!!
Let me explain.
1: You sell the car, and lets face it, the market isnt exactly 'bouyant' so you may end up taking a hit on the cash you get
2: You want to get another TVR ASAP so you borrow money at 'stupid %' and end up paying more for the car that you want.
3: you know the history of your car now, you will end up losing the trust and knowledge of 'your' car for another possibly better car.... possibly not though!
All in all, just borrow the money and thus only lose out on one monetary 'hit' (apart from the getting married bit, ) of the intrest on the loan.
I think that makes sense!!
My wife also keeps on at me about the 'toy' but only because ive sold my Tuscan and am bloody miserable, she keeps telling to go and buy another one!!

Well the plan on the TVR front is to either wait until someone wants to upgrade from a chim or griff and just see what happens with the market. I am in no rush to sell so will just have to see what happens as they say. Thats funny!!! :lol:
