Anyone successfully managed to get a gents racing bicycle in a Mk2 boot, seatpost out and wheels off, obviously?

I only ask because I can manage it in my T350 and it is an imporant factor if I decide to change one day, maybe ...

Depends on the frame size, I expect.

I used to put a full suspension MTB* in the boot of my mk1 - I had to remove the wheels, seatpost, and unbolt the stem. The problem was the length of the suspension forks compared to the depth of the boot; with a road bike it will be more the bulky bar/stem combo. There wasn't room in the boot for the roof with a bike in there, but that's not a problem if you're used to a T350C!

• It was a "large" sized Santa Cruz Blur with a set of 120mm forks, so not a small frame by any means.

Boot is (approx) 70cm deep, 125cm across and about 60cm front to back (at the widest point).

Thanks, both. At least with those measurements it is 'theoretically' possible. I'll have to try it out in practice later in the year.

Managed to fit a 21" specialized mountain bike in the boot, both wheel's, seat/post, handlebars and forks had to be removed, could'nt get it to fit with the forks attached though.

Lol! Not much of a 'bike' left to fit in by then. Unfortunately, fork removal is not an (easy) option on a road bike.

How far would you be driving, and would you want to leave the bike in the boot of the car whilst unattended? If not just leave the boot open.

I don't think it will fit - I can get my mountain bike in (Cannondale F2000 SL) with wheels and seatpost removed, but I'm pretty sure the handlebars and larger frame of a roadbike will stop the boot lid closing.
