To add to the existing small jobs to do... I now have another, which is slightly more serious..
So.... job # 10,761!!!!
Sticky throttle, or at least that is what I thought. Checked the cable today at both ends after a new one was fitted last year by TVR Power, and no signs of wear or fraying, but there is a little slack. The pedal does return to the stop, and does not seem to be restriced. I have done about a 1000 miles since.
Anyway its seems to hang onto the revs.... sometimes its settles back to idle quickly, sometimes it holds onto the revs for a number of seconds before slowly dropping back to idle.... Obviously this can make things a little 'hairy' when you are giving it the pilchards
... so as always any and all suggestions and advise is much appreciated.
Especially annoying when the weather has been decent the last couple of days....!

Mine did this as well.
If your Tuscan stands for any length of time and there is any damp, a little corrosion can build up on the peddle pivot busshes.
Mine worked its way free with regular (over a couple of weeks) spraying of WD40 and a little working of the peddle.
I was told at the time I would need new bushes but once it was free it stayed free as my Mk1 Tuscan was my daily drive.
Interesting when the throttle stays on though isnt it.

Eh..... well.... when I got the car the cable was frayed and jammed wide open....total sh*t my pants as it headed for the horizon.... Sounded good though!!!! ha ha! If your Tuscan stands for any length of time and there is any damp, a little corrosion can build up on the peddle pivot busshes.

so - you dont think its the cable this time?
Has it been doing this since your service or just recently?
Badly adjusted throttle bodies can also cause this, when my car was first run after its rebuild it was set up badly by dream machines (as they reinstalled the engine), one of the throttle butterflies was completely closed at idle causing the revs to hang at around 1200-1400 rpm when you dipped the clutch. They would eventually settle.
Once the guys at str8 six set it up right it was great - for about 300 miles until it went out of tune again!! roller bearing throttle bodies solved that problem.

Just back from the garage. It seems to be the spring on the cable. But the tolerence is so close, sometimes it just seems to happen occasionaly now that I have disassembled, cleaned and put back together again.
With the cable detached, the bodies are smooth and fall back to closed without any resistance or stickyness.
Just a thought so, was the throttle cable on all Tuscans universal, or was there different types as they went from Mk1, 2 & 3??
