Immobiliser reset problems

I have had my Tuscan on trickle charge all winter but for some reason the immobiliser is refusing to turn off. I have tried the fob but that isn't working. Now, to compound the problem, it is in a garage that is too narrow to get at the battery behind the wheel to disconnect the terminals. I would roll the car out but I am on a hill so inside the garage is the only safe place i can work on the car. Rolling it back into the garage would be nigh on impossible without a team of people.

So.

How do I reset the immobiliser with all these things considered. Please PM me if you need to, I am going crazy over this...

Pull the carpet back in the passenger foot well. you will see the main power feed, with a large black fuse holder, if you take the fuse out i think it will kill all the cabin power. Otherwise you could always disconnect the immobiliser unit its self.

Fob battery is fine. i have tried removing the master fuse behind passenger footwell but that isnt going to budge without considerable damage and potential electric shock!

any other ideas?

Still not working. how do i remove the immobiliser to get the car to a TVR garage?

Have you tried disconnecting the battery? This was the only way to reset the immobiliser on my Tuscan.

Does the immobiliser have it's own internal battery? The light stays on when I disconnect the power...

Sorry - I don't know the answer to that.

I had problems twice after the battery ran flat - I'd left the headlights on.

After disconnecting the (already flat) battery for a few seconds, the light on the dash (to the left of the steering wheel) went out. Reconnecting, with another battery attached to the anderson connector was enough to be able to turn off the immobilser with the keyfob and get the engine started.

if my battery goes flat sometimes i have to remove the immobiliser fuse(batt) from the fuse box in the drivers footwell to reset it..have you tried that ?

Hi mate, have you sorted the problem yet? I have first hand experience after my girlfriend left the lights on! As the other guy said, pull out the carpet at the back of the passengers footwell and you will see a big black fuse holder, remove the insulation tape from around it and it will then open up. You will need a socket it's either a 6mm or 8mm to remove the 100A fusable link, once its been disconnected for a second you can then refit the fuse and the immobiliser should then work properly...

Lol, the AA man didn't want to do it either! Just make sure everything is switched off, ie lights and just undo one of the nuts, and that should be enough to reset it. There wasn't anything to short the socket out on the car i was working on, but just make sure...

did you get this sorted? i now also have an immobiliser that wont turn off (i think) following a battery re-charge. the red light isn't flashing or solid. Im thinking of removing the 100amp fuse but am worried about what damage i could do...can anybody adivse ? cheers

I had a similar problem yesterday after inadvertently running the battery down. I removed the fuse link fom the immobiliser in the footwell as per the advice above...no probs and working fine now.

...it was pretty straightforward...undo the box and lift the fuse link out and replace
