Drivers door problems
Discussion
Been driving the tuscan all day today, roof off naturally!
BUT both of the opening buttons have stopped working and I have to use the little red lever to open the door, I've checked and cleaned the micro switch under the lock mechanism plate but still no joy, fuses checked, window works fine and door locks as it should. Any ideas? Cheers, Mr C

The solenoid isn't clicking when the buttons stop working, so I guess a new one would be a good start!
Weird thing is when I stripped and cleaned the micro switch the wing mirror button would make the solenoid click but as soon as I put it all back together it stopped working again?
Can anyone point me in the direction where to buy the solenoid from and where is it located?
Thanks again, Mr C

Hmmm, it could be the microswitch arm isn't activating/decativating as it's getting caught once you're putting the metal plate back on.
Otherwise, the solenoid can be sourced from Maplins, it's the standard central locking solenoid,
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=12304
I'm fairly sure it's the 2W version, to access the solenoid you need to remove the side cover behind the door/seat and you can then gain access to the whole door mechanism. Might be worthwhile checking all of the connections/voltages before stripping anything down?
Hope it's sorted soon
