OMG !!!!........Dave (NTEL) WTF !!!!

Just had CC's and Dave's de-cats fitted over the weekend.........it's an unbelievable noise but thinking it may just be the wrong side of offensive particularly as I live in a built up area. May give it a little while to coke up a bit but got a feeling the cats may be going back on !!!

You really have not got to giving a flying **** to boot it with this combo !!

Will try try and do a bit of iPhone video and stick a link up.

A full decat and CCC's is regarded by many as too loud for comfort. You're looking at 130dB with that set up.

One option that's popular is to partially sleeve the standard cans. You keep the deep bassy sound but it gets rid of the high pitched tinniness that is quite unpleasant at times.

Amazing how quick you get used to it!

I have NTEL decats and sleeved standard exhausts, i love the noise but my mrs HATES it, not for everyone i guess!

Just remember to dip the clutch when going past cars with blue lights on the top

Can't say you didn't mate !!

Think its the "raspiness" rather than the volume that's probably the bit that grates......gonna have to find a way of getting rid of that to some degree and maybe a deeper tone. Is that the effect you have got out of the one's you made for yourself ?

Think it's either standard cans back on or standards with some sleeving. Not sure which of those is going to get me closer to what I want ?

Any advice from anyone who has either of those much appreciated.

I had NTELs decats and end cans on a previous Tuscan. A very nice combination....took some of the raspy sound you get with sleeved standard cans.

I now have his decat pipes and a JP back box on a T350...unbelievably loud!

Hi Simon, it isn't the decats that cause the raspiness, its a combination of the corner boxes and the CCC's. The CCC's are straight through cans with an empty void between the internal pipe and the external sleeve. When I have made straight through cans in the past I have always filled the void with lagging which adds some "density" and takes out a lot of the "ringing" noise.

The cans I run now I made with just 4 or 5 inches of perforated tube towards the outlet and fully packed them with ceramic blanket resulting in a deep note with very little "rasp". The closest you could get to this is semi sleeved standard cans.

Next step for me is to get rid of those corner boxes which add quite a lot of reverberation.

I'm looking at chopping the corner boxes out and replacing with straight pipe too...should sound a lot better,but would this affect back pressure or not make any difference? p.s. I have decats and standard cans. thanks in advance

I'm not sure what the effect will be on back pressure really. When I do mine it will be going on the rollers for before and after results.

Was coming home one night evening about 9PM on a still warm evening and the girly was out on the balcony reading. She heard me coming from 1.5 miles away

I know it's not to everyones taste - but I can't stop grinning.

Hi Dave. Well what ever it is I love the noise!
On another subject, I took your advice on the T350. Had a full service, new Magnicor leads, tappets done and a TVR power chip from Dom, plus reset the adaptives. Pick car up tomorrow....fingers crossed!
