EFI FAULT

Hi guys - out this afternoon and the EFI FAULT displayed on the LCD, followed shortly (10 mins) by loss of power (almost like one cylinder not firing) and tapping/ticking noise from under the bonnet. Should I panic?

Hi,
Sounds like your Tuscan has the same "virus" as mine. The symptoms sound very much the same except the EFI warning I was getting was a pressure sensor which had given up. The oil pressure was displaying all over the place. Got that replaced but the lack of power "as if one cylinder is off" is exactly what I am getting. But it is not all the time.It's got me baffled.

Me too! A few weeks ago I changed the ignition coil on my car and also reset the adaptives and throttle positions (seemed like a good idea at the time). I am now regularly getting this fault:-

"EFI fault! press sw to overide".

My car is due for a service soon and seems to drive as well as always, except maybe a little lumpier at low revs, so I have just been leaving it until then. Hopefully someone else can advise what might be happening here?

My oil pressure is fine, but the tapping and lumpy / lack of power is slightly worrying...

I've just booked my car in for a service at STR8SIX - I'm sure they'll get to the bottom of it and I'll report back any news.

Good news - shipped the car up to TVR Power and Dom just called to say it was the coil pack. Brilliant! Thanks for all the help guys!
